Communication between school and home is an important part of your child’s education.  Here are a few ways to stay in the loop:

Thursday Folder

Every Thursday a folder will come home with your child.  This Thursday Folder is where you will find communication from your child’s teacher about weekly behavior, upcoming assignments, completed assignments, permission slips, school flyers, and sometimes community flyers.  Some grades require parents/guardians to sign or initial acknowledgement somewhere in the folder and all grades require the folder to be returned on Friday.

Monthly School Newsletter

The school newsletter will be e-mailed to you at the start of the month that school is in session.  The newsletter includes announcements and information for the month, letters from the principal, assistant principal, counselor, and other school staff.  A calendar with upcoming school and district events is included.  PTO also has a page for announcements and upcoming events.

E-mail

Teachers also use e-mail to communicate with parents.  However, each teacher’s preference for e-mail is individual.  Most teachers will inform parents at the beginning of the year as to how much they will communicate this way and ask for e-mail addresses, as well.  Teachers’ e-mails will be:  firstname.lastname@edmondschools.net.

Telephone

Chisholm’s main office number is (405) 340-2950.  Each teacher has a phone in their rooms along with a voicemail box.

School Directory

Every family has an option to purchase a school directory on Information Day or through the front office after the first day of school.  This resource lists names, addresses, and e-mail addresses for the entire school including contact information for PTO and faculty.  You will find yourself referring to it throughout the year.

Edmond Public School App

Chisholm and Edmond Public Schools utilize a free app for district communication.  It is available for both Apple and Android.  It is a great way to stay informed on what is going on not only at Chisholm but for the district.  You can use the app to view announcements and reminders or set it up to receive push notifications to receive announcements as they are made.
